This week, I was asked if I could describe an advice that I would have liked to receive before starting a competition prep or going on stage…. I thought I’d share my answer

Having a positive social life is one of the most important factors in a person’s life. As competitors, it’s very easy to shut everyone out of our life and totally focus on bodybuilding and we end up burning ourselves out.

If your sport becomes all your life is, sooner or later, you will regret it. Having balance allows you to take more pleasure in bodybuilding and makes you look forward to each workout and yes, each diet.

Just don’t let the rest of the world crumble around you during your quest for greatness
It’s important not to do too much or too little of anything. Too much of a good thing is just as bad 😉

Enjoy the journey and the process it takes to compete, but makes sure you still have a job to go to and family and friends loving you!

This is what I wish I had been told in the beginning!
